Zodidi Gaseb is the Founder of African Naturals, a Namibian business that is built on social entrepreneurship. She has since the launch of her business inspired us with her activism centred around positive self-image. Here she shares her learnings and lessons from the past year, her self examination from Africa… her Afrospection.

Q: How would you describe your 2017?
A: Quite challenging, but full of lessons and beautiful moments and fantastic networking opportunities.
Q: What was something good that came out of 2017?
A: Being invited to the Global Media Forum as a speaker as well as the Brightest Young Minds and the Natural Hair and Beauty Expo of course!
Q: What challenged you in 2017 and how did you overcome this challenge? (Advice you could share with us for overcoming challenges)
A: My health took quite a turn this year and it was a reminder to better care of myself as well as being mindful of what I allow within my space.
Q: What was your favourite Art in 2017? Theatre, music, movie, artist or art collection…
A: The Bank Windhoek Triennial. A reminder that art in Namibia is still alive and thriving.
Q: What was your biggest health and wellness learning of 2017?
A: Self care is love. Food is medicine and it’s ok to say no without explaining yourself.
Q: What was your biggest personal development learning of 2017?
A: My networking skills have definitely improved and I made full use of them wherever I see possibilities of connections with others.
As for the Holidays…
Q: What is your favourite food in December?
A: Healthy food!
Q: What is your favourite Namibian destination?
A: Swakopmund, nothing like the ocean. I always feel healed and refreshed when I’m there.
Q: What book should we all be reading?
A: Any book by Alex Elle.
Q: Where do you find your inspiration?
A: Literally everywhere, I soak up everything.
