Perspective Changing Tips for Stress Relief
Changing your perspective when you can’t change your situation has become almost clichéd advice. Yet, if our perspective can have an affect on our general wellbeing, perhaps its worthwhile knowing the great perspective changing tips, for when life feels a little too much to handle.
1. Set Your Sights on the Lesson and Not the Problem
When we view what’s happening in our life as an opportunity to learn, we open up endless opportunities for growth. By viewing what is happening to us as a lesson instead of a problem, we direct an outcome of learning.
Nicolas Cole, in his article for Inc, writes “Growth is rarely the result of the people in your vicinity. Growth is the result of how you utilise the people around you, and create opportunities for yourself. The key to shifting your perspective is to remember what you’re aiming for.”
2. The Restorative Tonic of Thank You
Science is proving the many health and well-being benefits that come with the simple practice of gratitude. The practice of being grateful turns our attention to what is going right in our life, and away from what is going wrong. This alone can have a ripple on our wellbeing through a reduction of stress hormones in the body.
Karen Powell, in her article for MYD Heart, writes “Gratitude has the power to profoundly change your life for the better. In fact, gratitude is the most powerful manifesting tool we have. The energy of gratitude creates magnetism and expansion.”

3. Stop Thinking In Terms Of “Should”
Seeing things from a perspective of what ‘should’ happen can create great and unnecessary pain in our lives. Ashley Fern writes in an article for Elite Daily, “Unrealistic expectations will, can, and most often do lead to disappointment. Too many people are obsessed with finding the perfect career or the perfect spouse, and as a result become increasingly frustrated when this does not pan out. An unfortunate pitfall of having high expectations in certain circumstances is that we prevent ourselves from enjoying the experience altogether. If you feel this way in your life, you need to readjust your expectations. Do not expect things out of situations, just go into them with an open mind. This will allow you to fully immerse yourself without the pressure of living up to preconceived notions.”
