Mobilising Environmental Education in Rural Namibia

EduVentures has been in existence since 2003 and is run from within the National Museum of Namibia. It exists for environmental education of Namibian children, from mainly disadvantaged backgrounds, through environmental experiences and educational excursions. In addition, through their mobile classroom, they assist young Namibians to understand our natural heritage.

In this episode of the MYD Earth Show, we speak to Corris Kaapehi, the Project Manager, and Sophia Nuuyuni, an educator, at EduVentures, to find out more about this project.

“What makes it worthwhile for me is the fact that I have participated right from the beginning of this program. I was actually a learner who went through EduVentures… So for me the fact that I was actually a learner built up by EduVentures, for me EduVentures is like an inspiration to say that I should keep this going, because I might also influence others the same way I was influenced by the project.” ~ Corris Kaapehi
