The MYD Show – Spend a Moment in My Reality with Bianca Özcan
On World Multiple Sclerosis Day, we had a Namibian living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) join us in studio for the MYD Show. Bianca Özcan, joined us to share her story, and her experience of living MS.
“When the Doctor told me, I didn’t know what it was, I thought that it was something that was going to go away. But she started to say, ‘you’re going to have to go on chronic medication’ etc. I had to go back home and read up all these things by myself. Do some serious research and then I realised there is more into it and this is more serious than I thought and the fact that no one else knew about MS made me realise, well this is something I should do to educate people.”
Bianca is also the Founder & Project Manager of Multiple Sclerosis Namibia. Click here for Multiple Sclerosis Namibia.
“It is not easy and I wouldn’t want wish this on my biggest enemy. But that’s just what MS is all about, it is also known as the disease with 1000 faces and that is directly related to the difference and the severity of the illness because everything is controlled by the brain.”
In this MYD show podcast we find out:
- What is it like to be someone living with MS, what the challenges are
- Why Bianca left the corporate world to start Multiple Sclerosis Namibia
- How you can be a support to someone living with MS
