The MYD Show – Spend a Moment in My Reality with Tony Muganza
What empathy is really about and what it is not about is what was discussed in this episode of the MYD Show, with Behavioural Scientist, Researcher and Data Analyst, Tony Muganza.
Tony has qualifications in comparative education and social behaviour, and he joined us in studio to share the truth about empathy being empowerment, as well as a bit about the science of why we behave in certain ways.
“I think there is a lot that we can do, simply by listening. And listening is not necessarily being quiet. It’s also about, being quiet and trying to understand the back end of a situation. Why certain things happen is because we don’t take that moment to listen. To be quiet and look at the back end, the causes of, the thing we see.”
In this MYD show podcast we find out:
- The mistaken identity between sympathy and empathy
- How not every experiences require an empathetic response
- How Tony took it upon himself to learn about empathy, through experiencing a lack of empathy in his life
